Anti defection bill is passed in the year 1985. The 97th amendment was made in the year 2011 and is relating to the cooperatives. It is aimed to encourage economic activities of cooperatives which in turn help progress of rural India. As per the amendment, the changes done to the Constitution are; . In part 3 of the Constitution, after words "or unions", the word " Cooperative societies" Was added. . In part 4a, a new Article 43B was inserted. . After part 9A of the Constitution, Part 9B was inserted.
